I did a concept of a still life that I might paint with one of the luffa gourds that I grew this year and some of my rose hips. I definitely need to enlarge the berries. And maybe I should fatten the luffa a little.

I’ve been learning lots of painting tips and techniques from YouTube while I listen to Spanish videos. My favorite right now is Renso Castaneda. He uses a simplified Loomis method for dividing the face into thirds. A third down from the hairline is the eyebrow line. A third down from there is the line of the nostrils. The last third is from there to the bottom of the chin. He quickly draws/paints in his reference marks, paying attention to whether the head is tilted – in that case, the lines will be slanted. He gets a close likeness to a person or pet in around 2 hours. I can actually watch for the entire time! For English, he’s @RensoArt for Spanish: @rensocastaneda
So for YouTube, his English channel is https://www.youtube.com/@RensoArt (The YouTube address may not be a .com in your country)
And there are so many others to learn from! Or simply admire and become a fan of.
